About

ProfileTwist is not your ordinary social network; the website acts as a vital connectivity tool for all college students. The central idea behind the website is for students to be able to develop new relationships with students who not only have similar interests but also might be studying the same major, living in their residency, or participating in the same student organizations. This level of interconnectivity is exposed by the extensive arsenal of features ProfileTwist developed: student organization pages, highly-interactive school networks, and the ability to repost or restick any content found on the website. For the first time ever, students can create student organization pages to promote upcoming events, recruit prospect members, share documents, and upload pictures. And with the addition of powerful school and friends networks, students can quickly browse through events, pictures, organizations, and posts according to specific user-defined demographics. ProfileTwist surveyed thousands of high school and college students. This is the outcome of years of careful evaluation, design, and innovation.

What Separates Us From the Competition?

No other social-network provides college students with such a high-level of interactivity or personalization. While ProfileTwist is a standalone social-network, the website focus lays in school-networking: the ability for students to interact with organizations and the general school population in a more effective way.

What Lays in the Near Future?

ProfileTwist will continue to re-innovate and raise the envelope of social-networking. Through the use of cutting-edge technology, pTwist will develop features that will facilitate student organizations in growing their member-base and fulfilling their own mission statements. Furthermore, ProfileTwist hopes to partner up with numerous educationally affiliated corporations to provide students with free or discounted online services. The limit is endless and ProfileTwist will always be at the forefront of networking for college students.

History

ProfileTwist has been under development for more than five years but only recently has the vision of the website firmly been established. Originally, pTwist was developed as an online note repository tool, providing students with access to rich history, chemistry, and Spanish notes. Once the founder, Greg Solak, began studying at Rutgers, the website took a full turn and transformed into a social outlet for students and student organizations.

The idea for the website blossomed during the founder's freshman year. As one of the largest University's in the world, Rutgers has more than forty thousand students and five hundred student organizations. The number of outreach opportunities offered at the University is endless, and yet, a very small percentage of the freshmen class actively took advantage of these merits. There are simply too many organizations and events that freshmen have to sift through to find one that genuinely fits their interests. The vision for ProfileTwist burgeoned through the founder's own frustrations and quickly became a feasible solution to the over-looming problem that haunted many other students.
