After compiling the results from the teacher and student surveys, I have noticed several significant trends. Teachers and students were most interested in school-networking features, such as study resources, student and teacher pages, school networks, and an online calendar of homework assignments. They were least interested in Facebook-like features including picture slideshows and my favorites. The website will primarily focus on providing information regarding school events and course assignments. It will not focus on provide social-networking features.
Teachers and students valued simplicity as the most important end result, while they believed a strict code of conduct, with administrative consequences, to be the least important end result. The website navigation will be simple and easy to use. It will also provide comprehensive tools for students and teachers.
Although students valued exclusive registration as the third best solution, teachers held an overwhelming majority of sixty percent that exclusive registration was the most feasible solution. The website will use an exclusive registration system. A semi-exclusive registration system would be difficult to setup and manage.
Since students founded user uploaded class notes and study resources as the most important extra student feature, the website will provide such features in its early versions. Teachers were most interested in a website that enabled them to provide their contact info and list the assigned homework. The website will provide these features as well.
